Attaining S-Mount from Mount to Armbar - Erik Paulson

Everyone and their grandmother knows the armbar from mount already, but that's not the point of the post today- rather, it is more about attaining S-Mount smoothly without getting bucked off before, something I find that a lot of people have trouble with due to the inability to set up the transition.
Mr. Paulson doesn't call it the S-Mount, rather, he calls it a "Japanese mount attack, because their legs are shorter." Aside from any unintended racist tones, he does bring up a good point- people who have short legs benefit a lot from the S-mount, as it allows a good deal of control while setting up an attack.

-You have mount, preferably high up
-Before your opponent attempts to wedge his elbows in to create space, hug his head and squeeze your forearm together, effectively stopping an escape that way
-If your knees aren't up to his armpits already, use this control position to do so
-Lean on one side, and smoothly bring the other leg up and into the S-mount position, then get your center back over your opponent.
Now that you're in S-mount, your vanilla S-mount Armbar:
-To set up the armbar, attempt a keylock on the far arm, and as your opponent attempts to defend, grab the near arm and go for the armbar.
Now, if you're a little more flexible, and are an experienced grappler, I would suggest this transition brought to you by Aesopian:

Thanks for the vids! I taught a class just a few days ago and brought up the S-mount variations - when done well it's crazy how much control you have with so little physical effort. And going to the back? Delicious. Thanks again!
Agreed with bart-
I'm not sure if it's all that that uncommon, but I always end up going for the gogo pretty often when I'm in S-mount, because the people I usually use it against are almost always looking for the shoulder lock or the armbar, and end up not protecting their necks.
Because of that, I really hope they don't ban the Gogoplata from BJJ competitions. That would be a damn shame.
I agree but I heard that it is banned.
Thank"s for the video.
